Pre-planning in AMV Creation

For me, I've sometimes begun with very little direction; other times, videos came as a natural development of a certain thread of artistic thought I had for many years.

That said, whatever plans I have, there's always a clause in them that says "the main plan is that things won't go according to plan". I've come to expect changes in direction, non-obvious solution, and just outright random things working in an AMV.

Because for all the planning you can do, in the end the audio-visual parts of people's brains are faster and more unpredictable than the inventive-analytical parts. As always, what you see is what you get, and until you see your video on the screen, you can't be 100% sure how it'll work.
Fortunately, we all get preview windows for that

Oh yea, and then there's my famous case of "The Plot Thickens", where I was given a phrase, and on the spot - just out of that sentence - I came up with a very accurate plan in literally two minutes, following it through very faithfully - down to exact images like dead flies, trains, sunsets, industry and bicycles. I still have a record of that AIM convo that produced it. Accurate plans are much easier to come up sometimes than one might think.

At first, I'd try to freely match the audio and video freely in mind, but afterwards it's almost "to-the-frame" timing in premiere. Then writing + printing the lyrics \ timing and filling it while looking one both macro and micro, and as last touch noting effects, motives and whatnot....

only after that I can fool-heartedly throw all my papers away and whatever I wanna do....

when I see an anime I chose a story that I want to show so I start to search for a song that matches my idea and when I find it I start to edit ^_^
first I chose affcorse where to put the best moments I have in mind and everything else comes up while I edit
