Yeah how dare we think for ourselves and have our own opinions. Enough to be jailed for it. Sounds like something out of 1984.Vicious Knives wrote:Dead To The World not making it to the finals in the Most Artistic Video and Video of the Year categories is a crime. If you wish to redeem yourselves, you may vote for it in the Best Horror/Terror Video category.

Wow, is the concept of facetiousness lost on this generation? I am disappointed that Dead To The World didn't make it to the finals in the Most Artistic Video and Video of the Year categories, but I thought it was pretty obvious that I didn't actually mean that stuff about it being a crime and people deserving jail for not voting for that video. Lighten up, guys.
Yeah, it's true. Lurid Enchantment does fit the category better. In fact, now that I've just watched it, I've decided it will be the one I vote for in that category. It's a shame that Dead To The World didn't make it to the finals in any other categories, but I won't vote for it in the Best Horror/Terror Video category if I think another well-done video fits that category better.angelx03 wrote:But that video wasn't THAT scary though.![]()
Lurid Enchantment on the other hand.......*shrugs*

Hey,
I hope this helps.
Phade.
It all had to do with how the votes were spread among the top vids. For example, the votes could have gone like this: 100, 90, 80, 76, 71, 70, 60, 55. In this example, the top 6 vids would be in the finals. For others, it may have gone like this: 100, 90, 80, 70, 55, 54, 53, 52. In this example, the top 4 vids would be in the finals.Pwolf wrote:actually why do some categories of 6, others 5, and then two have 4?
I hope this helps.

Pretty much. I agree with you about Most Artistic, but I think since its release I have changed my mind about Video of the Year (even though I've only seen a few other videos this year). How I can possibly come to my conclusions having only seen a few videos is anyone's guess.Vicious Knives wrote:Wow, is the concept of facetiousness lost on this generation?
(note: I didn't nominate, nor will I vote)

either way "video of the year category"'s videos are all in many categories.
didn't really agree with that categories contestents but oh well...
phade, is it possible to know how many people voted this year up until now?
like, how many votes for each category and the total votes for everything together.
i hate not being able to vote for "dead of the world". too bad it's only in the horror/terror category, i had to vote "Lurid Enchantment" on that one
anyway, congratulations to everyone who made it to the finels, semifinels and semi-semi finals (for making a video this year
) and to Sierra Lorna for participating in 8 different finals catagories

fa·ce·tious: adj. Playfully jocular; humorous, cleverly amusing in tone; "a bantering tone"; "facetious remarks"; "tongue-in-cheek advice" [syn: bantering, tongue-in-cheek]Vicious Knives wrote:Wow, is the concept of facetiousness lost on this generation?
Since it's pertinent:
tongue-in-cheek: adj. Meant or expressed ironically or facetiously.
i·ron·ic: adj.
1. Characterized by or constituting irony.
2. Given to the use of irony.
3. Poignantly contrary to what was expected or intended
At which point we arrive at the reason why many of us failed to find this funny or interpret it as being facetious: it's most decidedly not contrary to what we've come to expect, it was in fact perfectly in line with it.
