Anime Evolution 2006 AMV Contest

Post by Vlad G Pohnert » Mon Jan 30, 2006 2:24 pm

Hi all,

the rules are now up for Anime Evolution's AMV contest at http://www.animeevolution.com/?page_id=38 Please read them over carefully as there have been some changes to the rules. Deadline for entries will be June 23, 2006

Last year for the contest, the place was packed to full capacity, so we might even have an overflow room playing the contest as well....

As with previous years, we will also play all the entries on Sunday as the attendance for that has been real good, so everyone will get an audience to see their videos... As I also run the AMV room all weekend long, we will be playing last years contest on Friday and some of the previous years entries so your videos will get a lot of exposure! The AMV room at Anime Evolution has been one of the most attended rooms of the con and is the biggest of all the video rooms and includes Stadium seating :D

This year We'll also working on taking exhibition entries that we will play at various times in the AMV room. More on that once things are in place...

My overall experience with this contest last year was excellent, so I'm looking forward to submitting again. :D

I think I might actually submit to AE this year. I've been meaning to for the last 2 years.

The FTP site is now up! Instuctions on how to submit via FTP can be found at http://www.animeevolution.com/?page_id=38

I would also want like to mention that Anime Evolution's AMV contest does not have pre-determined categories, but rather 6 category slots that get determined after all the submission deadline based on the best fit from all entries. This gives a more even distribution and more equal chance to all videos. (last year over 40% of the submissions fell into Drama and thus 3 of the 6 categories were Dramatic, Sentimental and Romance)... This system has proven in the past two years to work quite well. And as always, all accepted entries will be shown during prime-time in the AMV room.

This is the same FTP site as for Anime Evolution so if you wish to submit to both, only one upload along with a filled out entry form file for each contest is required.
