"Mark as read" for member's main page

Post by jasper-isis » Sun Feb 26, 2006 6:48 pm

Here's a small, "it would be nice" type suggestion: a "mark as read" option for the some of the announcements on the main member's page. The announcements can build up over time, leaving the opinions/QC update panels at the way bottom. I know that it only takes only a few seconds to scroll, but scrolling can be a bit bothersome right after you release a video and want to check QC's frequently.

I understand that some of the announcements are important and should stay up there, but others like "Calling all programmers" and "Check your spam filter" are one-time reads for most people. So maybe a system where the admin could set whether an announcement is hidable?

Like I said, this is a "would be nice" kind of suggestion. :P

Alternatively, any way we could re-arrange things on the main page so that the ops/QC's would take priority?

Fair idea.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Even better (just building on that) would be a Protopages-esque setup where you can move anything where you want to anywhere on the entire page. I think they said that it had someting to do with DHTML, or something like that. Just a thought for a future site redesign (which probably won't happen)

good idea, especially if your say, not a programer so it didn't apply to you in the first place.
