Lack of MEP's makes me feel lonely and useless.

Involvement in MEP's only makes me feel unproductive.

It's a lose/lose scenario until someone releases a beta or a full video

The VG Projects always had full videos as tracks as opposed to smaller segments.... but now they're over.

I felt the same way about this Contra Gungrave/Hellsing video these guys made a while back for an MEP. :P

I used to be all over the MEP projects, but I've decided I don't want anything to do with most of them anymore. It did take away time for me to work on personal videos.

When you spend about 3 years planning and hoping to start a video, and you never have time to even start it because you are busy working on MEPs... that told me that there was a problem.

For now, I am totally sworn off of any MEPs. Im just doing my own thing... taking my own time... doing what I wanna do.

If an MEP comes along and I really like the idea of it, and I think its something that I seriously want to be a part of... maybe I'll have a go at it. But never again "just because it seems like a kinda cool project" or "just because someone asked me to".

yea, meps O.o

heh, I might do a whole bunch this year, but I have found that doing them might kill time for my own projects... which like Jasper-Isis said makes me want to do my own projects more...

I've decided though that I'll keep taking on Christmas @ a-m-v.org each year though (untill it completely dies), cause it was fun last year even though it was rushed...

I'm currently official in one mep and two others I've showed interest in... Summer I might end up doing anyways, and SL's Christian Rock mep... (well I dont think I have the kind of music she wants)

either way, I also agree with Otohiko's post...

they are fun, but they are also distracting O.O

Ok, from what I've seen for myself recently, and as indicated to me by the fact that my dance video made it to the semi-final of the VCA, I just felt that it was a rather slow year for dance videos this year... I'm inclined to believe that MEPs, a lot of them being dance oriented, is taking away the need for people to pusue individual dance projects. I suppose it's not entirely a bad thing, especially because I think dance/trance/techno is wonderful when mixed rather than individual songs and the more of these MEPs there, the more I can fill up the time in the rave party I'm cooking up in the middle of the year (dance music with projector to show the AMVs and lots of lasers and smoke machines :D).

But yeah, at least in this genre at least, I felt that MEPs have had an impact.

I often find that people are too intimidated to ask me to join their project. My overwhelming skills scare people.

I like the idea of doing small segments, but I don’t put any more effort into them then I do with my own projects. Everyone is like, “I went all out on my segment.” I’m like, “I go hard 24/7. I squash people like you.”

How long does it really take you to do a 30-60 second segment a few days to a week? My personal projects take much longer to complete than any MEP segment. So, I don’t think it’s a big distraction. Unless you’re doing something like 5 minutes long.

What is wrong with have a gratuitous amount of special effects? I like that element in MEPs. I hate it when I watch an MEP that tries to make you have an emotional revelation or something. Do you actually think I am going to cry?

Reflections of Style 2 rocked, fast pace, energetic, and I didn’t have an epiphany.

I've always hated MEPs, I'm ashamed of the tracks I've done. And that makes me love my individual efforts even more 0.o lol.

I take MEPs as a psycological boost, but too many don't do shit other than waste time.
