Actually, the fact that you didn't reply to my post at all made me feel ignored.Osakaisthebomb wrote:actually I'm doing the exact opposite.shinodude wrote: I feel you are ignoring what we have to say

We spent most of the discussion in this thread telling you what we want to know. You're just asking us to repeat ourselves. Spend some time to read through what we said again and make your own list of our questions. You can start by answering some of the questions and concerns I mentioned in my post. Then you can list the questions and answers you've come up with so far and if we have anything else to add, we will tell you.Osakaisthebomb wrote:One last thing. I need a list of exactly every little thing you need to know. I'm having trouble finding that out. Leave no detail out. I use this to figure out what I will need from you guys and to better explain the details of the project.

What do you mean, "not for the right reason"? Do you want this project to turn out the best it can, or do you just want to prove to everyone that you can make an MEP? I don't understand why you think you need to do it on your own.Osakaisthebomb wrote:Sierra Lorna, I apprciate the gesture but I don't think it's for the right reason. Please have some faith in me for a change.
As of yet, you haven't said many ideas or said what direction this project will be taking, so I'd be interested to hear what they are. That said, would you be upset if there were two Christian rock MEPs, which took different directions from each other?Osakaisthebomb wrote:Plus there is the chance that the ideas and direction I want to take this might be different than yours.
You shouldn't have to ask us to tell you what to do. You should already know what you're doing if you're going to be coordinating something like this.

I'm not really interested in this MEP, but I keep checking the thread because I find it amusing.
Still i felt it nessecary to offer some outside advice.
Osakaisthebomb you might not realize it, but you have an amazing oppertunity here. You've got a concept that some amazing and popular creators are interested in. That alone will make this MEP get ALOT more attention than it would otherwise.
Sure it's your first MEP, but you could do aome serious research (read through some other MEP threads to see what people say about their MEP's, read the guides and really brush up on technical aspects.), get advice from fellow members, and come up with a solid plan. Otherwise bite the bullet and give it up to someone who does know. Choose either one of those two options, or you'll end up with a MEP that no one pays attention to.

This guy makes the most sense out of everyone (Silver Moon and Sierra lorna aside, they have been making alot of sense too)mikestrife wrote:I'm not really interested in this MEP, but I keep checking the thread because I find it amusing.

the first and only MEP i coordinated was Christmas @ AnimeMusicVideos.org granted I was just as new and fumbling as you Osakisthebomb, but seriously when it comes to this kind of a project PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LISTEN TO THOSE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.. (this does not mean give up the project, just take the advice of the other people who are willing to lend you their talants, and be greatful that they are willing to lend them to you)
I'm not really interested in the project, because you seem unorginized O.o granted when I did my christmas MEP we only had a couple of weeks to work with, but we still pulled out a good product... not stunning like Valentines Day but still good...
you need more of a focus... and when it comes to certain things, you need to listen to those who know what they are doing, they are only there to help you... especially when they can point out holes in your project...
1. you can keep this thread because of the lovely "edit" button XD change your first post to reflect the current set up of your project, and always keep that first post up to date... XD
2. http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... hp?t=60728
please note the technical and themeatic specifications in this thread... and also look and see how other people coordinated their threads O.o there are many ways to coordinate a MEP especially when people live in time zones that are a good 18 hours ahead of you without having to snail mail a CDr
3. most people will want to check out your work when they decide to join a MEP, and for the most part you might want to check out their work as well before deciding on who you let join.
4. be sure to have file types, and size limitations, time limitations and number of pieces they are allowed to submit... and any restrictions on animes you might have... unless you really do want to end up with 200 evangelion clips to barlow girl (o.o not sure how that would work, but yea) be sure you have a consistant "claim" system, and make sure all claims are noted on the first post... that way people dont randomly hit reply without looking at that list, cause most people are too lazy to dig through the entire thread to make sure that their song/anime is taken.
theres alot of suggestions i can give you for this MEP, but if i were you i would welcome the talants of sierra lorna and silver moon, they are two of the top editorers on this site... im sure that their experience could be highly valuable, and i know i would have respected their suggestions when working on christmas O.o

I'm am dreadfully sorry. I was doing slective reading and taking this yall said out of context. I was also being very stupid, ignorant, and proud and I am sorry. Okay let me answer those questions.
Silver_moon and Sierra Lorna: - How long are you planning on making this? The date for turning in videos has been moved to june or july. I will work on it with no due date at first but If I've become slacking I will set one then.
- What's it even going to be called? Me and sora764 brainstormed on some names. They will be available for vote on the new thread
- What kind of transitions do you have planned? That depends on the videos and their condition.
- Are you going to set any other kind of standards? Would you let a track that is barely edited into the project? Would you disqualify tracks that came with extremely poor audio/video quality? I can fix the audio with ease and More standards (with a heck of alot more detail will be available on the next thread.
I didn't mean to claim that this project would be all my doing. The people involed is what makes a MEP great. I simply choose how to put them together; in what order and other stuff like that. Simply the idea of this project I want to keep mine. Thats all.
Look for the thread "MEP WITH OUT A NAME"
You'll find a least most of what you need to know there.

You know what, you're right, our visions for this project do seem to be very different. I think it would be easier if Sierra and I worked together on our own project, and you and your friend worked together on yours. People have been supportive of us running an MEP, so that's what we're going to do.
We will be sure to give you credit for inspiring us to actually begin this project that we've wanted to do, and we will be constantly checking to see how your project is doing. We'll make sure not to use the same ideas, songs, titles, or whatever else you are (this shouldn't be a problem, there are tons of music artists out there). We'll be sure to make the projects very different.
I don't know if this is going to make you want to kill us or not... we're not taking this away from you. We're just going to do our own thing now. It just seems like the best course of action for us to actually have the kind of MEP we want in the end. We will have our own thread up once we've have all of our rules and ideas clarified.
Good luck with yours, if all goes well we will have two good MEPs on our hands by the time this is over. We shall leave you in peace, now. I'm really sorry if we've offended you with any of this.

It did seem al little rude that you or your sister (can't remember which one) came to ask to do it for me, But in the end i can see why you did. I would love for some one else to do a similar project. That's the reason for the project in the first place. It was to get people to hear more Christain artist and even for Christain members on here to express the faith more. I think you should work on a similar project. It also leaves me with some good competiotion to go againts.
I would love to see how you two do on a similar project. I'd be fun to compare it with mine. I'm sure it would be better.
Also, everyone who has talked with me on this thread is going to be voted "most helpful member" at next years VCA. Thank you all.
