Anyone know about AMVs in Japan?
I mean are they like at conventions or anything...? It is apperantly very popular here.. but I wonder if they have any sites in Japanese that are all about AMVs. Any insight on this would be great. Thanks!

Although there are editors in Japan that make AMVs just like us here, there is also a large assortment of videos referred to as MAD...
From AWA's panel with Piano, he mentioned that it refers to editors that make complex videos with tons of digital effects and thus they are mad to spend so much time on it... Some MAD videos are special effect laced opening parodies and lots others generally use a lot of still and Artbook shots animated amounts text and visual effects... Some are quite insane and I can’t imagine the hours that go into it (well… maybe I can)
There are several North American editors that have now made MAD videos as well... Actually, some editors in North Amercia are quite mad for creating some of the videos we see anyway

Re: Anyone know about AMVs in Japan?
Pianos has been to the last two AWAs to give panels on MADs and he seems to have pulled more Japanese MAD creators to this site such as Cyuson, kaicho and shine@G2. He has an interview that you might find interesting: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... view_id=11x_rex30 wrote:I mean are they like at conventions or anything...?
