off topic section?

Post by Shinodude » Fri Feb 24, 2006 1:20 am

well I am pretty sure everybody has noticed the off topic posts going on that admins have to ruin the fun(no offence I understand why they where locking them) and lock the thread. I was just suggesting a off topic section for threads like that, it could add allitle more fun to the forums. just somting I thought you could take into suggestion

You do know that there used to be OT sections and that they were closed because of just that kind of abuse (or so the reason was given), right?

The off-topic area is only available to Mods and 1337 ppl.

However, the crowd around here is no different than most that you'll find in other forums, anime and otherwise, when it comes to Off-topic. Since most public forums have an OT section, go there instead, 'cause like the majority of ppl, u r nut 1337 enuf.

hell no. even though it seemed I was having a lot of fun in those few threads, I don't agree with them too much... most of the time they are filled with spam and pointless stuff. I hate when I go to things like an AMV chat room and they are talking about video games. If I want that I'll go to a video game forum.. and when I want to discuss amvs, I go here. The more a thread is like a chat room and always getting off topic, the more I hate it. I believe in an off topic post here and there.. like 2 or 3 back to back.. but that is as far as I think it should go.. I do that a lot in the image forums.. people take it to far there sometimes though.. like when you end up with a whole page of text and no pics, that pisses me off. A comment or two like "that's a cool pic" or "thanks for sharing" is cool with me.. but damn people.. after people make one or two comments.. get the fuck back on track! [/ramble]

huh? what the fuck are you talking about? I was just trying to make a point that the AMV chat room is a lot like an offtopic forum. Chat rooms are always off topic and forums are way different than them. That was one point I was making. And the other point is that forums shouldn't be like them.. and off topic forums would incourage randomness and abuse IMO.. ok I'm done now.. Oh and one more thing, there are like a hundred thread about this.. do a search and read a bit from them. You probably would of realized that making this thread was pointless because the off topic thread is not coming back.
