That's actually a good question; Also, the policy on asking to borow a DVD would be nice -- and if they're not the same, an explination as to why. and what about the diference between either of these and renting DVDs for AMV purposes (if any).

Pwolf is asking if it's okay if, during a conversation within the forum, one person asks another for a rip of a small part of a DVD. Since they could just as easily PM the person, I'm assuming the question is more a matter of curiosity. Right?

I assume it's wider, including making a thread "Can someone rip for me...". I don't see much difference to asking for downloaded footage. And it's said in the forum rules not to do soFlint the Dwarf wrote:Pwolf is asking if it's okay if, during a conversation within the forum, one person asks another for a rip of a small part of a DVD. In the same respects, there's no difference between this and asking to borrow a DVD from someone or suggesting someone rent a DVD (both of which are done often enough here on the forums). In all cases you're not buying it but are making use of it. Granted in renting you pay a nominal fee, but that fee is, for businesses like NetFlix, a membership/shipping fee more than anything else.Keeper of Hellfire wrote:I assume it's wider, including making a thread "Can someone rip for me...".
