Plagerism? you tell me....

Hello, I am a fellow AMV creator, Benji1988 (or Benji Hellsing as all my videos say). Recently, I've gotten a quick comment on my InuYasha video saying that the person loved it and even commented on it on a website called YouTube.com...perhaps some of you have heard of it....I certainly haven't...which raises the question; how did my music video end up there? Looking for myself, I found that a user by the name of ChibiBankotsu downloaded my music video from a-m-v.org and uploaded it onto YouTube.com, claiming it as their own. I'm sure if that had happened to you (or maybe for some, something similar has happened) you would be furious. However, I was calm in private messaging this user... Below is a link to my journal in which the newest entry is all the information on this plagerism INCLUDING the conversation of private messages I'm frequently having with ChibiBankotsu and her sibling Swordmaster43.

Wow.. that would PISS ME OFF SOOOOO MUCH, thats why if I upload someone elses work, I make sure to give them credit for it. Because I myself would HATE if someone used something I made and acted as if they made it.

1 question though. It was ur movie that he used? Dont you have your name in the video somewhere?

There have been a few threads recently about this.

from what I gather, youtube is a site where you can upload any video and people can come watch it.

There are a number of ppl that just upload AMV's that they like. Apparently some people also take credit for the AMV's but that doesn't seem to be the case with you. You should see if you can find it on youtube and see if you're given credit for it.

+ From what I read if you want it down, youtube won't bother listening to you unless you hold the copyright for the video, so basically they don't listen to you at all.

My name is up on all my videos. YouTube makes the videos on low resolution to save space. Its difficult to see but its there
Also, there is a link in my first post for my journal. There is the conversation im having, all explaining a lot of whats going on, including proof of my video up there with the link

just get evetyone to flag it as inapproraite...

or perhaps use the contact us form to report it?

Good, Its a good thing that you have ur name posted in the video... that way anyone that watches it knows who it was made by. I do the same with my videos and I include it in the video itself... like the tags, when you right click and click properties, you'd see my name as the author of the video and so on.

That's pretty messed up but it's not the first time someone on youtube's done that... or on here either....

this topic has come up a few times, best i can say is that people keep uploading w/o permission, and if you wanna stop them, flag them and upload them yourself to your own sn...
