Katsucon AMV Contest Under New Management
NOTICE: The Katsucon 2005 AMV contest is NOT being handled by Drew & Kelly Stallings (Joykiller & LunaAislin) anymore. The details of this whole messy scenario are too long to explain but Im sure the person currently handling the contest will do a super job. I'm not real positive who your new AMV Corrdinator is but check the Katsucon website or mail the main Katsucon address if you need to contact them.
Thanks!

Will we need to check with the new people to make sure they have our videos?

Jeez. Less than 2 weeks until the convention and we still don't have a final cut list.
You'd think that for a big convention like Katsucon they'd have their act together.... unfortunately for the last couple years, it seemed like it was thrown together at the last minute -- and I'm sure this year it will be the same thing all over again. Sheesh.

With it being so close to the convention and all, would it be possible for someone to either: send an e-mail confirmation, or post a list of videos that were received (not a finalists list)?LunaAislin wrote:No you dont need to check with them they do definately have your submissions I handed over every single submission myself.
Thanks
Chris
To paraphrase one Mr. Cool James, please refrain from referring to it as a revival, I've been lurking for ages.

No thats not time practical. A list will be posted of COMPETING videos at the leisure of the AMV corrdinator. If you mailed your video it was recieved if it was not recieved you either did not mail it correctly or there was a postal error and I'm sure the postal office will notify you. ALL videos that arrived at the mailing address have been reliquised to the new corrdinator. All videos were kept together in thier mailing envelope with thier original forms and original cases. I think you can all rest comfortably that your submissions that were mailed with proper postage to 614 Shawn Court Highland Springs, VA 23075 were recieved and processed. If your video was recieved it will be considered. If your video was not recieved you will be notified by USPS.

I know Joykiller wouldn't drop the load on someone else intentionally. Something drastic had to have happend or Katsucon must of had a change of mind because of the way Joykiller may have wanted to run the contest. Either way I know he did a great job with AMA and I'll defidently will be submitting there. I just hope Katsucon will go better this year and "Please if you do use the computer this year, please have the password accessible to all staff members so that way if the computer does get locked or needs reset they can get the contest back up and running and not have over an hour and a half delay like last year.ANTDrakko wrote:I think he meant not time practical for their current situation.Kusoyaro wrote:Then why do most contests do it?LunaAislin wrote:No thats not time practical.

We were forced to abandom our contest responsibilities due to some personal issues at home. It wasnt something that either party wanted to happen it was simply some issues that arose (due to the fault of neither party) that had to be handled in lieu of the contest. There is NO con drama to report. We maintain a mutal respect with Katsucon.
