It's very scaleable, unlike several of the other ones.
And it can be used as a favicon. (the icon shown to the left of the URL entry box in some browsers)

That's a bonus, not a problem.

And, as doki pointed out, it does scale pretty well, unlike many of those other logos that do all kinds of crazy fills and transformations on the text.

I'd like to add that this is even more true if whoever submitted the logo has it as a vector graphic or is willing to authorize tracing of the logo in a vector graphics program.
