FD32 vs. R34 GT-R, round2!

Post by Mr Pilkington » Mon Feb 06, 2006 2:37 pm

Thats right kiddies, Pilk did a serious video!
This hands down the best race in all of Initial D. I was waiting for the day someone with the skill to drive a GT-R propperly would come forward. The footage used is from Episode 21 of Initial D 4th stage, and this video is a must for all car fanatics! The song is "Shourisha-tachi no Banka" from G Gundam O.S.T: Gundam Fight - Round 5 (Track #11).

Let me know what you think:

Okay, to be honest, I didn't really like your video. Here some points that drew me to this conclusion.

1: The quality pf sound and audio isn't really good
2: You didn't take out all the subtitles (2:42)
3: You uused a scene-complex which served your concept, but made the video a bit boring.

This video wasn't really bad, but I would have prefered a more detailed sync. You manage to create a certain suspense, but it isn't really to be called impressive. You used stillimages at points where they don't belong to, they distract the flow of the video.

This I expected....
I compressed the living shit out of the audio to save size. Apparently too much, but I honestly didn't expect anyone to notice. The Next CBR DVD will be encoded from the Huffy file with Uncompressed audio.
I personally am also pissed about the video quality. It just didn't turn out as well as I expected. Hell I turned the XviD quantinizer UP to 3 to smooth some of the edges.

..... Subtitles? Thats news to me. I checked frame for frame 2:24 and have yet to see any text. There is that still that was clipped and added to the bottom 30% to aid the transition to reversed fooatge, but thats all that.
Now if you reffering to the segment at 1:45 thats would be episode identifier thats in all footage (DVD, Raw, etc...) that I tried to motion out while retaining the required footage, but seemingly failed.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy this.
I tried to make a simplistic video while retaining that "edge of your seat" excitement the episode exibited. I felt that a bunch of needless flashyness would distract from the over theme. Perhaps I did under-edit......

Meh
