Phade tells me that I have to send him Video Deletion Requests for EACH AND EVERYONE of my Robotech videos so he can delete them! I mean, how hard is it to just remove a video from a database?

Most of your Robotech vids already don't have downloads. To stop distribution, you only need to request that the Local file be removed.

Robotech should be sued by Battletech (FASA, Wizkids, Microsoft, or whoever now owns the copyright). Some of their mech designs are such ripoffs.

You do realize both Robotech (the comic at least) and battletech are from 1984, right?

And that Robotech is composed of three anime that are all from 1982-1984. Battletech started in 1984.

OK. This is about using video source...why would Harmony Gold be claiming authority over video source that's technically not theirs in the first place?
I mean, it's not like this is Shadow Chronicles...this is SDF Macross, Superdimensional Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber Mospeda...all of which are also distroed in the US by ADV under their proper releases.
I mean...by this logic, they could only sue if, somehow, you made your vid using a Robotech-unique concept...which is awkward to do in AMVs.

In short, I suspect someone's yanking you.

Well, you need to be sure of who this person actually is, just in case you're being played for a fool.

PM them back and requestfully say that you although you are willing to cease and desist, it'll require more than just a PM to make you actually do so. DO NOT give out your home address in the PM, if you decide to tell them to use normal mail, or if they ask for the address. That may in fact be the object of this particular hoax, if hoax it be.

Battletech is the ripoff, not Robotech (technically Macross). From Wikipedia's article on Battletech:
