Problem voting on banners

Post by Eternal Fury » Mon Jan 30, 2006 11:50 pm

Well I used to vote all the time for banners by clicking the link to vote on the right side of the members home page. Except now on my new computer, I can't. I still can whenever I log into a different computer, just not this one. I've tried changing Internet security settings and updating all of my plug-ins and such, but I still can't view those banners. Any ideas?

what browser are you using?
also...
clearing your cache might help.
I couldn't tell you why, but it seems to solve some of the oddities that occur on the site.

Well I'm using Internet Explorer now, although I had the same problem with Firefox. By clearing the cache, do you mean clearing my cookies and other Temp Internet files, because I can't seem to find a cache that has to do with IE right now.

go to tools, internet options.
then in the general tab, click on delete files (the one right next to delete cookies)
...if this doesn't work, the only other things that I can think of is that you are blocking images from this site (or another site, like photobucket), or you might have to go to the banners page, hold shift then click on refresh.

Well that didn't work either, I wouldn't think I have images being blocked. Since I can't even see the 'New' button to vote on new banners. Actually, I post a quick screenshot of what I see.

hmm...I thought that you were in the banners page, and couldn't see the banners...
this might be a temporary fix...

just substitue "newbanners" with "myworthy" or "myunworthy" to review what you've voted on

I'm not sure where I'd replace "newbanners" since I can't even see it anywhere.

I also just noticed that I don't see the banners anywhere either. Even when I go view someone's profile and view their worthy banners, I get all the information I used to get, except no banners.

substitue it in the url.
instead of http://www.animemusicvideos.org/banners/newbanners.php
put http://www.animemusicvideos.org/banners/myworthy.php
or http://www.animemusicvideos.org/banners/myunworthy.php
(note that the part that changes is at the very end)
If you really want to get it to work, keep in mind that this site is best viewed in firefox.

I couldn't find a block or unblock images thing in IE

I'm definitely going to have to give Firefox another try, since this is how your post looked to me.

I figured there was actually something in that missing text, which I could see once I went to quote you. I did a little copy and paste of one of those links and I get this.

It's kind of weird though, I never had this problem with IE before, or even anywhere else currently.

Just downloaded Firefox and I'm having the same problems still. Going to bed now.
