Bad Breath effect?

Post by Mikkamous » Sat Jan 28, 2006 2:05 am

Hi there!

dunno if this is the right forum for this, but here goes.

I have both Premiere pro 1.5 and after effects 6.5 pro and I'm trying to make a crazy looking bad breath effect for the one character in my AMV. I want it to look like green fumes or fog coming out of it's mouth or something disgusting like that :D If anyone knows how I would do this with either programs, or a different program please leave your suggestions. I'm really stuck on how I should accomplish this

Well with After Effects 6.5, there is any infinite number of ways to do it, depending on exactly how you want it to look.

To have like a cloud of green gas coming out, you might try these steps.
1. Apply the Fractal Noise filter to a solid layer. Tweak and keyframe the settings to your liking.
2. Use a filter such as CC Toner to apply a green tint.
3. Animate a mask on this layer to give it the look and motion that you want.

The quick way to do it with good results is to export the frames as bitmaps and edit with an art program.

After Effects could do it, but really this is more of a job for an art toolbar.

I'm assuming the scene is only a small number of frames, since generally overly long scenes are in less interesting videos (sometimes slow songs). I would think since you are doing your own effect that you are editing a good video.
