Do you usually create one AMV at a time?

Post by Adv1sor » Wed Jan 25, 2006 8:27 am

I usually start an AMV, like I did with "Stoned," but then, while in the middle of it, I hear a song or see some anime and just have to start another project!

Do you usually create one AMV at a time?

It depends. If the project I was working on became to much for me or I was getting bored with it. I would stop and work on another one and come back to the other project when I'm motivated. Normally I do work on one amv at a time, but while working on the one amv I start planing the other one out. So when I get finished with one I have another waiting for me to work on.

Usually, (untill now, and wuth the exclusion of MEPs and Iron Chefs) I have had multiple Ideas at once, and I have been writing them down in a notepad file on my harddrive. and i keep saying to myself ok finish this one before starting on the next one ...

which is what i geberally try to do.

Yeah... even with MEPs and other stuff flying about, I generally am only working on one video at a time. I might be "booked" to make them, but I do not start on any video while I've already started on another first.

Hard drive space is a precious commodity :D

I use to work on one amv at a time... then I started on my most recent AMV project. We'll call this Project A. I then started Project B. Went back and forth, but got sick of Project A and Project B is soooo pretty, but then it got to be a pain as well, so started Project C which is total fluff. Then went back and finished Project B. Now I'm back working on Project A, not sure what will happen to Project C. If I'll finish it or not.

I like to have options of what I can work on. If your working on a really serious anime, or one that is heavy on edits or effects (takes forever to make), it's sometimes nice to take a break and work on something that is pure fluff. I think the only thing that limits such is how much room you have on your system. Some people can't rip 10+ dvds, so are stuck on one project at a time.

I usually work on one project as maximum. Only once I worked on two at the same time. In my opinion, I prefer working all my time on the one I'm editing in that moment, and if I really found a completely amazing concept, as maximum I can start planning it. Though, if this new concept collide with the video I'm doing, I'll probably delete this one and I'll start the new, though, this happened truly rarely to me.

I usually do 1 - 2 works at a time unless they're short MEP pieces, which at one point, I had up to six going at once, and would just switch off on which one I wanted to work on that day.

But now I've got like.. 4 real videos on my plate, and I am not getting ANYTHING done. Part of me wants to finish them, but is too lazy to do it, and the other part of me is just saying "Fuck it all and upload the unfinished ones like you did with that linkin park video - nobody complained about that one."

The more projects there are for me at one time kind of snowballed into being so worked up over which one to work on, I am currently not working on any.

My project book is so old it has things from three years a go in it that want to be completed, but I am not sure how I want to arrange the priorities of the videos.

I still have the Linkin Park Revolution Project credits sitting on my desktop, and I'm not sure if I should just do the credits anyway since I worked so hard on them, or delete the ppj files out of spite.

I've got my eva without an eva video sitting on my harddrive that was twice rescues from reformats, and I'm still no farther into it than I was before- aside from the fact that I started watching Eva since it aired on Adult Swim(I hadn't seen it when I started the video and had bummed footage off other people) and I have to say the anime is one of the most boring things to sit through and I can't see why people like it so much... Which really isn't helping my motivation to finish it.

Even though I went ahead and bought one of the platinum DVDs and EoE just to finish the damned thing.

So more AMVs on plate = less motivation for me.

And fuck it, "Mad Macs" is still only 5 seconds done and on the harddrive! I thought I ditched that thing!!

I usually only work on one at a time because my computer can only handle one video source at a time.... that and I like to finish projects before moving on to the next...

like some other people mentioned: I have a list...

the only thing I cant stand is people who dont realize it, and get all miffed when I turn down their "teh super awsume video idea evar!" or whatever O.O yea I have a whole bunch of those too... *I might have taken requests before (usually from FRIENDS), but that doesnt mean that I am going to take every request ESPECIALLY when I am already in the middle of a project of my own O.o

Ah. I used to be like that, but then I got a hell of a lot more harddrive space and figured "Not only can I never delete any completed huffys, I can have on multiple projects!" And thus decided to expand.

I hate to say it, but the one harddrive kept me in check. Now I'm so unproductive. =(

I remember when 100gigs was a godsend... And that's why I had the AMV list. ;_;
