Lupin III

Post by MajinMan II » Sun Jan 22, 2006 5:11 pm

Hey! Wassup? I'm a big Lupin fan and I was wondering who else here was into it. It's one of my favorites. Whose your favorite character? I'd have to say Jigen. Although they're all pretty cool.

Lupin is alright, not one of my favorites but it is pretty funny. Goemon (or however you spell it) is my favorite of all of them because I like the loner characters in an anime.

only read the manga myself and seen 2 of the movies and yeah its pretty silly - zenigata is always fun. Castle of Cagliostro is a definite fave for me.

Kind of reminds me of a anime ocean's elven. I like it just because of the heists they pull and the crap they get into.

Lupin III is one of my favorite old school anime series. The stuff that goes on between Lupin and Zenigata is what makes the series for me.

Geneon's Lupin the Third TV series (and the Secret of Mamo) has probably the best dub in the dubbing universe! I wonder if Castle of Caligisto or any of the other millions of movies and specials have or will have the same dub cast.

In 2003 a production company had supposedly picked it up and was planning on releasing it in 2005. Nothing has been heard since.

Not exactly. Geneon's dub for the second Lupin the III TV series uses Media Concepts (though I heard they "contemporized" the script). Castle of Cagliostro is done by Animaze which uses a different cast (though I heard this was the best Lupin dub thanks to David Hayter's performance as Lupin). Some of the Lupin specials are done by FUNimation with their VAs.
