I finally got my hands on a damn copy of this game...and the verdict? It kicks so much fucking ass. I first I thought that the disney characters would ruin it for me like most other people did, but it just dosn't work that way for me. You don't really have to deal with looking at Goofy or Donald that much cause they off fighting for your ass most of the time, and when they do talk they say something kinda funny. As for the square characters, i think it makes this game kick ass. Seeing Cloud beat your ass in a arena makes my day, especially when he's in thousands of polygons compared to seven. Overall anyone who worries that the disney characters fuck it up, don't. It's a really great game.

Fine, love the game. But you see, I have a deep moral obligation to hate the game.
Square has betrayed me with it's shitty character design, repetetive stories, and boring gameplay and it is getting progressively worse. This new "guy" in Kingdom Hearts just takes the fucking cake (and then eats it after raping it). I doubt that Kingdom Hearts has much of a story, I mean, how what they do with Disney and Square characters that wouldn't blow ass? There are a few interesting ideas, but Square has shown that they are not ones for innovative storylines.
Disney has betrayed me too. God-awful movies such as Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame have convinced me that Disney is full of money-grubbing assholes who will defile any story if they think they can make money out of it.
I don't care how fun the game is, I shall always hate it. I do not hate it for what it is, I hate it for what it is made up of. Not the whole but the parts are what really matter. For no matter how nice and pleasing the outside may look, the inside could be shoddy and corrupt.
And danielwang, your sarcasm has not been lost on me.

You obviously don't get anything in this world. Most sane people in this world we live in want to make money. It dosn't matter who the hell does it, they're all in in for the money. Even if they like doing what they do the money is always a part of it (Teaching can be an exception). All games try to make money, if it wern't true they're wouldn't be any games. To tell you the truth the video game industry probobly was in an office one day trying to think of another addictive thing to sell to kids once drugs became illegal. So shut your stank up chica and look at all the truth. Everyones a money grubber, even you.Truest-Chaos wrote:Fine, love the game. But you see, I have a deep moral obligation to hate the game.

IMO, CS sucks. The game engine is too simple & primitive to be realistic. And its damage model can be inaccurate. Just look at how grenade explodes, how pistol can be superior to sniper in long range shooting, dozen hacks, slippery ladders, stupid AI etc. Playing UT is much better than CS. But that's just me and I never liked realistic-but-simplistic game like CS. I prefer something kind of Medal of Honor. And like you said "We all have a different standard for games."Lyrs wrote:Counter-strike rocks!

MOH was pretty good at the beginning but then as the game progressed the game play didn't. The solo missions were fun but they lacked teh original feel of what the invasion was like.
Yes CS does suck and it is a very simple game. But it's still fun. UT is great too, but teh ultra-scenario's aren't my kind of thing. It's just way too futuristic.
Hey, sorry if i touched a nerve when i said Oni sucked. That's just waht i got out of Oni. Afterall, what you like isn't always waht i like. Therefore, our game differences are perfectly understandable.
And one more thing. I noticed that you only have some 70 post, so you're new to teh Org. I'll welcome you here, since it seems like you're goign to read it. have a jolly fun time and don't let your nerves get fried. Being a new member, you won't get some of the sarcasm that goes around here. But just laugh. Don't take anything personally.

How dare you, I "get" more in this world than just about anyone I know; including you, now that I have read your post. I don't "want" to make money. I do, however, realize it's importance in relation to my need to not be poor and living on the street. And how can only teaching be an exception? The only job I will ever choose is one that I enjoy (excluding if a job is forced upon me), for if I do not motivate myself, nothing will, not even money. One of my greatest fears is to be stuck in a job I hate, so you can just shut the FUCK UP about money being the driving force behind me, or anyone else.
You are correct about all games trying to make money, but whose to say that it has to be the main purpose? I would love to create games, movies, and tv shows just for the fun of it. Creativity is my life, and no amount of money could possibly overshadow it's importance to me.
I only wish that I could find someone to share such things with, it's just that I put off other people so much. I'm too damn eccentric for my own good.
If this post has not made you reconsider your statement, then I don't know what will. It is hard to have a discussion when one, or both sides think that they are right. I try to never claim to "know" what is right, seeing as how I seem to think of it differently than others. Many claim that there is no right or wrong, but there is. Right and wrong are absolute terms with no exact definition, but with an exact concept.
Sorry for the length of this post, but I had much to say. I hope that most of you don't just skip through it and flame me, as seems to be the custom.
