Anime Punch AMVRave

Post by rpb3000 » Wed Jan 11, 2006 7:37 pm

Hey, the name's Johnathan and I've been assigned to the job of AMV Coordinator for Anime Punch. One of the things we'd like to do requires a massive AMV. We want to have a standard con rave, but we want to connect it more to the anime that we're celebrating in a con. The idea is to have a HUGE mix of techno AMVs all strung together and projected onto the rave floor wall. Something like the AniMix Projects, only with full-length songs.

Anybody think this is a good idea and want to work on it?

Love the idea. If it takes off count me in.

Is the set already mixed? I have some songs I'd like to do anyway so it'd work out good.

Give us some more info on the BPM needed to maintain a good and funky flow, or as suggested earlier let us know if the music is already mixed.

The music set is not already mixed. As far as speed goes, well most techno works. It should be something like the NOW Dance mixes, if anyone's listened to any of those. Or the standard DDR songs. Prolly strive to be around the 120-150 BPM range, with a few slow songs and a few fast songs interspersed throughout for variety.

What'll happen between songs is a good question. We could prolly do flashing lights and add in bass beats to carry the beat through. Or a crossfade. A lot of it will prolly depend on how the song itself ends. What would be really cool is if we could find a way to carry the AMV through. Ideas?

Would you want us to submit track ideas, or take clips from a pre-mixed DJ arrangement? (I have some that are 70-120 minutes long.) One way would ease your transition and beat mixing duties somewhat, but the first would add variety.

Also, what's the timeframe you have on this?

(oh, I'm in, btw)

I would love to get in on this once i am back where my editing computer is. As the others asked, is there a pre-mixed set of songs you would want us to edit from or do we provide our own?

I'll do it if your music selection doesn't suck ass. [Using Tiesto, Paul Oakenfag, etc.]

Why don't you include already done AMVs for this one? I'm sure there's huge amount of ready-to-use AMVs to make a mix with, and I bet most of the editors would be willing to let you use their videos.
