Neon Genesis Evangelion question regarding Second Impact

Post by Captain Spadaro » Sat Dec 31, 2005 3:08 pm

When exactly does it occur? Most of what I've seen says September 13, 2000, but at the begining of Death & Rebirth, the date stamp at the lower left-hand corner of the screen says "Aug 15 2000". Also, is a specific time of day (i.e. 1:00 PM) ever given, or is that open to interpretation?

I think the August date is from where you hear the two people having the conversation.

As for the clock that you see when Second Impact occurs, I think that is just the index timer for the camera. The actual operation was likely occuring for about a hour before Adam broke through to the surface and spread his wings.

Only if you set them :P I think the time shown there was really a mission clock from where they tried to shrink Adam into an embrionic form. The question that I have is that Adam broke through to the surface and spread his wings. Most of everyone was dead or dying at that point. Misato saw Adam standing from her escape capsule. How did he then shrink down to his embryotic form? And then how did they find him? If it was so easy to do, they certainly didn't find the other angels that were scattered throughout the globe (except for the three, Lylith, the one in the volcano, and Kawaru).

You mean the shot from the intro that says "A.D. 2000" on it as well?
