Problem with the Confirm Video Participation page
So I'm going through the vids that people are claiming to have submitted to Llamacon (not that any of them actually have), and all of the links to the vids are 404ing. Figured out why:
The links that I'm getting on the confirm vid page:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?vid_id=######
What the actual links are:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?vid_id=#####
Also, is there something that can be done about the people who list themselves as submitting to every con and then some? Perhaps something like removing their uploading permissions or something for wasting our time. I also notice that videos have cons listed on their profiles unless they're denied - shouldn't it be that cons <i>aren't</i> listed unless they're approved?

How many contest coordinators are actually making use of the new approval functionality? (In fact, how many contest coordinators are even Org members?)dokool wrote:I also notice that videos have cons listed on their profiles unless they're denied - shouldn't it be that cons <i>aren't</i> listed unless they're approved?
Not to mention that it's too late for all contests that were entered before the system was improved.
Personally, I don't want to see my contest participation listings invalidated because either the contests were some time ago or the <s>Coordinators</s> coordinators don't care to approve videos.
And something I was thinking about the other night: if I'm reading it right, this basically means that whoever enters the contest into the calendar first, whether or not s/he's the actual coordinator (for example, I added a few contests in early 2005 because they were coming up soon and they hadn't been added yet; I doubt their coordinators were even Org members), gets to handle the video lists...

I've run into this problem too, although I think it's fairly minor.

Minor indeed, but it *would* end the "I'm going to list every contest that ever took place since my video was listed" thing.Kalium wrote:*raises hand*Scintilla wrote:How many contest coordinators are actually making use of the new approval functionality? So I've been making fairly good use of this system - however, out of all of the videos that have been listed as being in the Llamacon contest (45 total), only three actually were.
Would it be possible to allow the contest coordinator to manually list video as being entered in their contest? It'd save me the trouble of having to deny a thousand Burningpheonix (and all his friends, who seem to love nothing more than adding EVERY GODDAMNED CONVENTION to their AMV) vids...

If you go to the calander and add your AMV contrst listing, then you can edit it and verify entires that people list... As I said, it's a start and hopefully there will be more imporviements... Trick now is to get the workd outseijin_dinger wrote:I didnt even know there was an approval function....
