Post by Fandalg » Sun Dec 18, 2005 9:30 pm

Does anyone know how to get some of the videos to play on quicktime? Well, what I want to do is get them on my iPod but it doesnt work for some of them.. or am I just downloading the wrong file type? or is there a way to convert the files to a different type? Thanks

What format, codec, resolution, etc. do iPods require/accept?

we got it to work on my husband's ipod by converting them to MPEG4...

go to http://www.download.com/ it will cost you money to get a program, but you can find a video converter program there... unless you know of one that can convert to MPEG4 for free... we ended up paying for ours either way...

Just because it will play on Quicktime does not mean that it will play on an iPod Video, you have to convert it to MPEG4 first. There are converters all over the internet, they are not hard to find.

I don't have an iPod so I can't tell you how well this program works but try this: Videora iPod Converter
It's free, but still in beta so there probably are some issues yet.
Having trouble playing back videos? I recommend: Image

With quick time pro you can export to "video for ipod". It comes out as mp4.
