Oh, I remember the days when I would beg to differ. Good thing I didn't know how to upload locally when I made those videos. x)silver_moon wrote:It's not such a good idea to use an effect just because Premiere has it.

The thing with that track was that I actualy knew how to do thoughs effects and had taught myself. Thats my whole argument basicaly. Most people just want to be told how to do the effects. They dont want to take the time to learn themselves, rather be spoonfead something thats too complex to be appreciated when its spoonfead to you. I taught myself how to make amv's and more complex effects through alot of reading and experimentation. I took the hard way and rarely asked people for help. I hate these clueless n00bs who just want to do effects. They think its simple, that they'l get it quickly and be able to do all this amazing stuff they see in other vids. They want something they cant yet comprehend and it realy annoys me.Mr Pilkington wrote:That's a bit harsh. I like a softer touch. Master the basics, then learn to koop. Besides, it's not all about canned fx; matting and keyframing are imperative for truly great videos.

No one cares that you taught yourself. Everyone thinks indy art is easy until they try that shit for themselves. Film, drawing, etc. They all want shortcuts to make things look better without going through the trouble of spending the time to make it happen. It's all a matter of time.

I Agree with Mr Pilkington ... Learn the basics first, then when you add effects, they will really affect the veiwer instead of being just "pretties and Shinies".Mr Pilkington wrote:That's a bit harsh. After all you wouldn't jump feet first behind the driver's wheel and expect to master drifting and accelerator/clutch control. It takes time and practice to effectively master all things worth while. Otherwise you become a NASCAR driver: only able to make right turns and listen to country music.

This does not always work as I have made proof and failed and refuse to name the AMV "was close though".godix wrote:Just copy Euphoria and toss in lots of lens flares and flashes. Oh yeah, and starwipes. If you look at the top 10% list you'll find this is obviously the path to fame, assuming you use Naruto of FMA of course.
I just listen to the song I wanna use a bunch of times then imagine what I think should happen. Many times I come across and idea then imediately cancel it cause I know I can't do it then I actually try it and it works. Very similar to Silver Moon's idea.
You can do that, or just copy effects from an AMV creator that has multiple vids on the top 10%. Not a good idea, don't know where I came up with that idea either. It's not like my next Bleach AMV has ideas stolen from multiple Seirra Lorna vids along with a hint of Bakadeshi and Tyler. Not at all.
