Quick Comments.... why anonymous?

I recently logged in and found I had a new quick comment it consisted of ".." this tells me nothing and is instead just plain annoying as I now will have a bright blue box sitting in the corner of my screen for a while untill it isn't considered new. While my annoyance isn't all that much of a concern to you I know that other people have recieved quick comments with similar text. It is my belief (which might be way off but makes sense to me) is that if we added the users name who sent the comment this sort of thing would dry up a bit. Then if people had a habit of leaving these messages then they would lose their quick comment ability. If this seems too much for most people then maybe it could be an option for donators only (and notice I say this with the status of Total Leech). If this has been addressed before then I apologize, it just annoys me when people use these things (Quick Comments/ Star ratings, opinion/etc.) for pointless/annoying reasons. Don't get me wrong I love the quick comment idea, but the idea that you can send a message to somone at random without them knowing anything about you is a large temptation I know some people cannot ignore.

We already have a non-anonymous feedback form - the ops. The very point of QCs is to be anonymous so that people don't feel pressured by 'hurt feelings' and that sort of stuff, and give quick but honest feedback. I know I've done that before.

We don't need to create redundancy, I think. Those who want to be known can use ops.

My recent videos have come under unfriendly fire without decent explanation. I find my videos to be decent, perhaps the earlier ones not so much... but as of late, my better videos have been receiving hurtful QC which I have no means of tracking.

I would like you to remove the QC option from your site unless you can track those who abuse it by leaving flames.

I have left you with QCs left on my videos. This alone should be reason enough to edit the QC option.

Then why even have them if people don't want to look? Simple. I look at them because I enjoy the QCs which are constructive or positive. I shouldn't have to deal with the disgusting flames. If you were flamed horribly, you would feel the same... you cannot simply say it doesn't effect you.

Then you have to take the good with the bad. If you want accountability, then stick to just reading your opinions. Those have the person's name written right on top. Of course, most people won't bother leaving opinions, and when they do, its not terribly likely to be any better than many of the quick comments you recieve. Plus, most of the time they wont be completely honest with you, so if thats what you want, then just don't read the quick comments and stick to the opinions. Thats what people did up until the quick comments were introduced just a few months ago.

Anonymity has its tradeoffs. You can get much more honest opinions on a range of subjects if people are freed from supplying their names, which is good. You'll likely also get a huge surge in vitriol with those opinions. But oh well: truth may still be there.

I don't see a reason to remove that source of information by removing anonymity so that we can satisfy the whim of a few members who haven't matured enough to take criticism in its many forms.

And no, it doesn't bother me if someone says they dont like my video, harshly or otherwise. How is it that you, and so many other people, are so bothered by comments by people that you dont even know? I see where you are comming from but I see no reason to have a fit about it, or even care what anyone thinks of your videos. If you like it, then thats all that matters.
