Converting MOV files to MPEG or something playable

Post by genestarwind21122 » Tue Nov 22, 2005 10:20 pm

I got a video from a convention that someone recorded of me. I was Inu Yasha and a Kagome behind the camera yelled Sit and they recorded me falling. Anyways I wanted to know how do I convert that to an MPEG file?

Try reading Kirin's guide to making amvs with iMovie (if that's what you mean by mov)

http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... rial3.html

I've been following the conversion instructions to convert my .mov's to .avi's, if this helps. Had to download devolution as part of the process.

haven't read the instructions in a while, though, don't know if it includes converting to mpeg, sorry
"Didn't I say something clever earlier?"
"Dunno, I was probably asleep when you said it."

You could just get QuickTime Player.

radtools(bink video codec).exe - this is very old video player/converter tool,it most used to play .bik and .smk gamevideos - BUT,it can convert any type(v.4,5,6) of quitcktime's .MOV files into normal .AVI.

the easiet conversion tool i recommend for this case is RAD video tools - the prog can handle anything to avi conversion.

Or, as long as you have the TMPGEnc QTReader plugin, you can just load the freaking things in to TMPGEnc and encode straight to MPEG-1 or 2 (if you want to do it the hard way and decode to AVI first, go right ahead; the only advantage here is being able to do operations on it with AVISynth - if you do decode tot AVI you have to manually reset the framerate in TMPGEnc to the correct value since it sets it at 60fps for some reason).
