Why do people here say anime companies support AMVs?

here's what I think. It's another way advertising as well as entertainment. It sometimes reveals new animes to us in an entirely new way that trailers can never do. It's kinda like some Music Videos on MTV that feature song from Movie Soundtracks. I should know well, cause I've gotten some animes in the past after watching certain AMVs. Animes I've seen in AMVs before getting the series on DVD was Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, Gungrave & Inuyasha.

Let me put things this way. AMVs are so legal that the lable that owns everessance and creed, decided to stop by recently and tell us to ceese and decist, or DIE HORRIBLY IN THE FIRES OF MOUNT DOOM!

you know its illegal to download (to your computer) MTV videos too

Simply put, if they wanted them shut down, then it would have happened. It's not like they don't know about them. In fact I bet there are a few reps on this site. :wink:
