Hm, you're cute. I did articulate my satements beyond "it sucks," and it's all said in good humor for the sake of furthering constructive conversation. You're right, there is more to the plot than just that, I just happen to not be satisfied with what has been shown throughout the anime for the aforementionted reasons.

Good times.

This is the statement I was refering to. Your next, after some people got offended, was very well articulated and I enjoyed reading it. Like supersayain13 said, "everyone is entitled to their opinion" and I certainly don't begrudge you yours. And I certainly agree with you in the respect that you (and I) don't feel that the support characters are as well developed or explored. Also, yes, there are better anime out there, but I certainly enjoy this one. Thank God, Adult Swim is continuing to air new episodes. Reruns get ssooooooo old.

Thanks, Riverstar. I was starting to get a little hot under the collar with that second noob comment.

Text is really bad at conveying sarcasm, as well as other things usually caught through body language and tone.

And, yes, Adult Swim (cable TV in general) is my main source of anime. I don't have much money and even if I did I wouldn't buy DVDs for a show I wasn't sure about. (Those things are *expensive*.)

True, I would like to see Roy and some of the others explored a bit more, but I'm reserving any judgement on that until I've seen the whole series. As supporting characters one can't expect them to have as much screen time as the main ones and Roy did show up quite a bit earlier. He's been showing up briefly in the latest episodes, much to the consternation of my fan-girl sisters, but it's likely he'll get more time as Ed and Al reach the Ishbalan incampment and more is learned about the rebellion.

And is popping in suddenly and saying a show "sucks" really a good way of prompting intelegent discussion?

Ha-ha, no. No, it isn't.

At the time I was expecting someone unintelligent to take the bait and start arguing in a n00blike fashion, but you altered the path of the Great Machine, so things went a little differently than planned. Kudos to you.

Same goes to Riverstar for disarming the bomb. Good job. FMA isn't a waste of time, but I'm much happier watching FMP at the moment.

Well, ah, thanks. :o

FMP is pretty cool, too. I actually saw some fansubs of the first four episodes before I started watching FMA. Mecha and high school drama rolled into one crazy package. ^_^

Wow, good debate! I can't say I entirely agree with the statement that Roy isn't well devoloped, though. True, the glimpses that you get into his personal motivations are brief, but I think that is just part of who Mustang is. He definitely presents a mask to most of the world, and I think this what makes him somewhat opaque to the audience and other characters alike. However we do see other sides of him. Part of this is exemplified by his deep friendship with Hughes. You also start to see deeper parts to him in episode 13 with the flashbacks to the boy he killed in Ishbal and in episode 15 (I think) when you find out
Spoiler wrote:he killed Winry's parents on orders from Basque Grand and nearly killed himself.
Because of things like that he doesn't seem to let many people get close. Also you continually see throughout the series what a canny politician he is- he seems to be pulling all kinds of strings in his bid for power. So just because Mustang's more complex emotions and motivations aren't explicitely stated doesn't mean they aren't there. And the same can be said of Ed and Al. I do agree that some of the other peripherial characters like Havoc and Hawkeye aren't terribly well developed, though.

Good points, Aesling. Unfortunately, all the characters can't be fully explored or else the series would drag on forever.

Then again, that might not be such a bad thing.

I really rather like Ed and Al. They're trying so hard and persevering. I hope things turn out well for them. I happen to like happy endings.

I know AS doesn't announce very well when they change show times, so I thought I would let everyone know that starting this weekend, FMA will be on 30 minutes earlier. It will be the first show on, on AS, so 11:00pm EST.

Thanks for the update! (AS stinks royally with letting people know about schedule changes.) Any idea when Inuyasha's on? Is it going to be right after FMA?

Thanks for the heads up. I missed 2 episodes because of the last time change. Why do they keep on changing it?
