is there a way to insert a sub file into an ISO, like say you have an ISO on ur computer, and you want to put a subtitle in there...
or is there a way to extract the vob form an iso..

True ISO files can be opened with WinRAR, I believe. If that doesn't work, I'd suggest something like UltraISO. Both of those allow you to extract files from the ISO, but you'll need to reconstruct it again after you're done.

alright cool, is there a certain format for subtitles on dvds? or is it the same .sub? and is there anything i have to do to get it to displayon the dvd..

Unfortunely, I have no clue on how to do that. Maybe there are some VOB muxing tools that can, but I wouldn't know. But DVDs use image-based subtitles; .sub is simply the images themselves, but the wrapper is different (the .idx files store the image timecodes, I believe). If there are VOB muxing tools that allow including subtitles, I would imagine it would support .sub.
