Well if you're intent of accusing me of being part of the most horrible thing ever, which caused the death of 60 million people, because I don't share your opinion, then do so. You can joke all you want, that's fine, I'm just telling you that this is not a joke to me.

I wouldn't call the Holocaust the most horrible thing ever. I'd say the nasty Europeans travelling everywhere and wiping out or nearly wiping out tons of other cultures was the worst.

What's more, wiping out other cultures is not a European thing at all. All through history, cultures and tribes around the world have been wiping each other out. And when I said "the most horrible thing" I meant world war 2 and all the realted deaths, not just the holocaust.

whether or not you purchased your anime dvds and music cds, or downloaded them illegally from a p2p program doesn't change the (il)legality of the creating and distributing AMVs.

however, there is this thing called ethics. this site respects the hard work of the artists, recording and licensing companies responsible for the sources we use for creating amvs, and understands that by supporting an activity that dilutes the artistic creations of these parties, it is morally indebted to the said parties. therefore, as a token of gratitude, it endorses its users to make purchases from and benefit the parties to which the site is indebted.

this site wants you to show support to the licensing and recording companies that are providing you with your sources, and provide some compensation for their goods and services, even though you are using them to produce unauthorized derivative works. if you downloaded your sources illegally, the site will (probably) not report you to authorities. however, the site does not endorse you mooching off the hard work of artists, recording and licensing companies.

there are also many other reasons you may want to consider purchasing your sources legally, including getting better quality and avoiding the chance of having legal actions taken against you.

Very good point made, concerning anime. I guess I need to reconsider my position on this. Although on the other hand, If I heard that someone was stealing music from top publishers and artists (the amounts of money that these people make is in no way justifyable) I woudln't exactly be gripped with empathy.
