What if a song can only be got by downloading?

Post by the4thmooncat » Mon Nov 07, 2005 9:16 pm

I noticed while signing up that videos can not use downloaded music. What if the song can only be obtained *by* downloading (like these)?

There's no rule against using downloaded music. Extracting an MP3 into a WAV for editing and then re-compressing with your video will just yield a lower quality audio. I know there are some artists who only release their albums online.

Then just get the highest quality version you can. Bakadeshi used one in his Angels Redemption video. I believe that he was able to contact the creator and get a high quality version too.

Angels redemption I'm sure there are other videos that also use OC remix stuff.

If you know what you're doing you can recompress audio without it even being noticable at all.

You're out of luck, actually. Phade will delete your account, contact your ISP, and leave negative feedback for any videos you've made.

He's done it before, sometimes for no good reason.

31, and then I'm gone.

Is it just me or is this AMVing thing getting to be quite expensive.
- No software you didn't accuire via P2P
- No using other peoples AMV
- No using downloaded music
- No anime you didn't from a DVD you own
??
Oh come on. Give a rest. Does it REALLY matter how or why we got the anime/music/software? Just as long we give a good vid, it shouldn't matter...

Has Phade got somethink against P2P and bittorent?

It's not like anyone would be able to tell, let alone prove anything, or even care.

Yes it does. AMV's are in a legal gray area, our only excuse is fair use. Using pirated footage programs makes them definatly illegal.

The way you propose can get more expensive than you think. The MPAA has accused a 67 year old man to pay 600,000$ because his 13 year old grandson has downloaded 4(!) movies over a p2p network, using his computer. The MPAA's first offer was 4,000$, but the old man refused because he wasn't able to pay.

Think how much DVD's you can by for this. If you look for special offers, it isn't that expensive. ANd as far it goes for the editing program, get an older version of it.

Well obsvoiusly these people care.
But yeah you'll have a tough time proving it.

Nah, all I know is that if the officials want this site to exist they absolutely must at least pretend they care, whether or not they actually do is another question entirely. It's just like how cans of spraypaint usually say something like "Use for art, not vandalism.". Sometimes you just have to be a big phony.
