Who cares?
I asked on AIM... He was wondering if I was making a Monopoly AMV or something. :P

I was drawing from the Top 10% for inspiration/memory jogging. One reason is that those are the only two videos of his that I really know. :P

I wanted someone relatively new (but I was reasonably familiar with) to stick with the cheap streets. :P

You wanna complain, make yer own damn board. :P
I made it with the 1999 edition of Monopoly PC. (the first published game I worked on :))
It's playable. I could've put pictures on the squares, but that's too much work.

I love how you chose HIsen's "Ugly Girl's" video instead of something else since we all know it's his best video and it's all been down hill since then

Google got 46.2% of the search in July of 2005 (<a href="http://searchenginewatch.com/reports/ar ... ">proof</a>) . While that is a large % is isn't anywhere near a monopoly.

Which leads into my pet theory, a website can not hold a monopoly unless the users allow it to. A true monopoly exists because the entry for alternatives is too high (just try to get the capital required to lay down your own power grid for example). For websites the entry cost is so absurdly low that high school students can and do enter that game. Almost anyone who visits this site has the ability to start their own AMV fanpage and compete against the org but no one really has the interest to, at least not beyond studio webpages which really aren't the same thing.

There's also the minor fact that a monopoly is not inherently a bad thing. There is nothing wrong with the fact your town only has one cable company. Where the problem comes in is if the cable company starts abusing their monopoly by doing things like 'You must buy a cable modem from us or else we cut off your services entirely'. Notice that no one other than linux nerds cared when Windows gained a monopoly but once MS started using that to push IE down everyones throats the feds got involved. So who cares if the org has a monopoly or not? They aren't abusing it so there's no problem with the fact it's the largest AMV fan site.
Based on this it would seem that Google is most likely part of an oligopolistic market structure (and so would a-m-v.org if it had mandatory paid membership)
For all intents and purposes here, we can just clasify a-m-v.org as part of an oligopolisic structure
...yes oligopoly is real, if you don't belive me look here.

How many AMV's does this site have aviailable to download?

OK...can you find a site which has more?
If no, then this site is the best.
If yes, then this site is tring to be a monoply
think about it. The site objectives almost says it it self. Something about having a catalog of all the AMV's?

You need to think about it harder, if indeed you've actually thought about it at all. There is nothing that prevents another .org from springing up and beginning their own cataloguing and downloading system. The cost of entry, while not low, doesn't have to be terrifically high, either.

uhh...no
monopoly...think about it. Specifically the MONO part (meaning 1 and only 1)
since there is more than 1 site with amvs there isn't a monoploy.
btw this site currently has 74,815 videos cataloged (as of 1:38 on Nov, 11 2005).

...did you even look at what oligopoly is? (if you did then consider the org as a price leader and it makes sense. [price leader meaning that there is one...maybe two dominant firms in the market])

Enough of the descritions and the google defines.
This site wants one of every AMV that ever exsited. Thus eventually it will be the monolepy(cant be bothered to spell) AND i cant find a site with more AMVs to download. Sure that means your the leader in the field, and beening the monolopy
