that's what I meant

and with stolen I meant stolen from actual animes, not from other AMV's
I'm just curious because I saw some posts by some people who were worried that their vids would not be hosted because they used original artwork

Rather a small sample to be generalizing from, I should think. My point about economics still applies, however.

Any time.

It does seem a clumsy translation, but I think I get the point. Just, uhm, be careful.

Also, the resulting video quality tends to be horrible. Furthermore, this is a remix culture. Citing what you remixed is important. Those who use the videos of others rarely do this, so it's rather disapproved of. On top of that, these people usually try to pass someone else's work off as their own - something editors as a whole don't do - which makes it a form of plagarism.

it depends on the original artwork, some people arent sure if its alright, and well "stolen" is an interesting term... wouldnt be much of an Anime MV without anime.... "original art" isnt looked down upon, its just not done very often.

Wait, it appears I quoted the wrong post earlier. Ugh. What I meant is, that with original content I meant content that was drawn and animated by the creator of the vid. Stealing for using footage from an anime was a poor choice of words, I apologize.

well you have been answered about three times, its not "looked down upon" its just not done very often, so some people arent sure if its allowed or okay, so people ask questions.

Yeah I know I've been answered, I just posted my followups to confirm to those that answered that they have infact answered my question (there was some confusion due to foggy formulations and a faulty quote).

Well I have about 5 videos that I have made that cant be posted here but they arent Anime, unless Harry Potter, Rainbow Brite and Lilo and Stitch are anime (which I am sure that they arent) but I have other places to host them.

basically if it falls into the Genre of anime its allowed, but if it doesnt then its not... original art is "towing the line" but from what I know its allowed as long as its a fan driven artwork for an anime. and if people arent sure or clear about the rules its always good to ask.

So, if someone made a video with entirely new characters and everything, the video would not be endorsed?
