how much is too many flashes

I'm doing a black flash every half a second for a total of 12 seconds.
I got criticized for using flashes in my berserk video(of course they werent timed as well i used the premiere feature and not manuely with a paint brush file)

depending what the flashes are in contex to....24 flashes in 12 seconds could be a bit much.

context would be symbal crashes in the time period.

It really depends, if your enemies are prone to seizures and you want to send them twitching, then that's probably a good amount, if you want to destroy them however I suggest adding more flashes.

It depends on the video. I've seen a seven minute long video that has flashes through almost the entire thing, it felt like I got hit in the head wth a brick.

Basically, it's up to you. There will always be some people that hate everything so just focus on making your video the best video that you can. if you think that having them helps your video transition through that part of your song, then go ahead.
