Footage keeps flashing in Vegas.

I'm editing AVS files in Vegas and I've never had a problem before with this, but now when I try to play back my video.. random clips turn black then the clip turns back on.. it happens to random files.. one moment it'll be please teacher, the next it'll be gundam.. What the hell is going on here? I started having this problem today, yesterday I defragmented my hard drives but I don't think that should be the cause of this happening. If anyone knows what could be causing this, please leave a reply.

How many different script files are you using in the project?

A lot.. A shit load! So many.. maybe in the 20s.. but I've edited this much before and never had a problem.. now there's always at least one that has the issue. When I restart Vegas.. it ends up being a different source than before. I don't know why it happened all the sudden when it didn't before.. I was editing the same footage yesterday and it wasn't doing this to me. I can't edit with this happening.. any help is highly appreciated, I've got to get this fixed.
