Well, I like watching AMVs because I like to see the emotions they express. When I'm sad I love watching sad AMVs^^
And I also get to know some good songs.
I like making AMVs because it's just fun to make them, and I have a great feeling when I'm finished with a video. And sharing the AMVs with others is great, too^^

Me? There's just a lot of creative room to manuever and have fun.
I have to say that my staying here originally can largely be attributed to a good, activity-oriented community and the OT section along with it. Since then, it's just the activity-oriented community. It's a living creative context without much pressure.
Making and watching AMVs in the context of the community is good. I enjoyed AMVs without this context, but they mean so much more when you look at them 'from the inside'.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Well, amvs have always been like a hobby to me. The good point in creating amvs is that you can do what ever you like.
Yes and they can give you a nightmares. For example guy in 40's using sailormoon outfit or something. *bwaaah*Michele wrote:But Cosplays can be incredibly dramatic.

The only reason I edit videos are to point out plot elements and themes that are common in both the anime and the audio. Hell, that's not how it started, but that's what it ultimately became.
And iron chef-wise, for fun. It's a challenging competition that's very different from many things today, and it makes me feel special.

I used to base my anime choices off of its AMVs... because if the fans can point out things I like then maybe its worth my time....Yorae wrote:I like watching AMVs because I love seeing the endless combinations people create of anime and music. Every AMV looks at a certain anime (or animes) from a certain angle dictated by the song and the maker's POV and thus sheds a different light on the series and lets me notice new dimensions or new notions in the show that I haven't noticed before.
if I continued to do this I would never be interested in seeing Naruto
no offence to the really awesome Naruto vids out there but a good portion of naruto videos suck... same with full metal alchemist

I like alot of Chris Cunningham's work, though most of it is really creepy.. my favorite from him would be Bjork's All is Full of Love... that was just awesome... and I Love Michele Gondry's work too, alot of fun stop motion stuff... especially Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind that movie was awesome

But it would seem that a good portion of most pop music videos now a days is nothing but booty-shaking and breasts... and pimping my ride and showing off every bit of money they have big houses big cars, lots of chicks dancing...
being a woman that is not a lesbian, breast and booty shaking doesnt do it for me... I dont mind it in anime so much cause 90% of the time its for humor. But I can see why some people would say that REAL music videos suck... Theres only a select few directors that dont actually suck in the MV world
