Vegas 6.0 fade offset

I recently got Vegas 6.0 and trying to figure out how to use it. There is "fade offset" The fade you can put in a video by clicking the corner of the clip and dragging it in. Hopefully you know what I mean. Anyway can you change the color of the fade? All it does is fade to black. I tried to change the top and bottom color opitions but it didn't work.

insert > video > fade to colour
