Why are so many AMVs listed without links?

Post by Adv1sor » Sun Oct 16, 2005 12:42 pm

I mean, I understand that maybe the AMV was removed for some reason, but why leave it listed? What's the point? It waste space and it waste time.

Are these unlinked AMVs still stored here for some reason?

This site isn't a primarily a download site. It is a catalog. Even if the video isn't available for download the entry is there if the video exists or existed at one time.

If there is a NO next to a video then (according the the creator) it's not available for download. This site is primarily a database of AMVs, so having info is the top priority. That said, there may be a few people who keep listing videos that never have and never will be created (i've seen a single user with close to 50 videos that probably never existed in the first place in their profile) and there are always people who put up their video info before officially releasing their video so the info page will be up but nothing will be there.

If this bothers you so much, simply choose "downloadable" from the super search and you wont get any results that arn't here/externally hosted/real...

What's worse is when they claim that they submitted the video to a con that doesn't even exist! I remember when I was making thinking of making an AMV, just to find out that someone had already thought of it...

It was a bit of an insult to find out that they were just using the AMV community was almost as insulting as the AMV that I made using the same materials as that ghost AMV.

Careful, you might instigate "amv-history" or some other such pack-rat quirk.

Same here, actually :P Well, I don't think I've actually lost all of my old stuff, it's just sitting on some hard drive somewhere that isn't hooked up to a working computer.
I have no idea how to use this new forum.
