You need an animation shop of some sort and some anime.
I like Jasc Animation shop 3 for animated avatars. But I dont think its so good at compressing files.
Windows movie maker (got that yesturday) is very good for avatars too.
But most importantly you need some anime dvds (you can't have illegal copies here, but I think fansubs are alright)

REALLY? i have windows movie maker...i didnt no u can make avatars? how the? how is that possible?

I know. I had it for a long time now and I don't any way in making avatars.You can make screencaps,but I don't think avatars.thanx anyway.
