Anime Destiny 2005 - Bay Area, CA

Post by matikin9 » Thu Oct 06, 2005 9:28 pm

Greetings from Berkeley! I'm from Cal Animage Alpha, UC Berkeley's anime club. We're holding our second annual convention, Anime Destiny, on Saturday November 5th at the UC Berkeley campus. Website: http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~animage/animed/

"The Beautiful Losers" http://www.thebeautifullosers.net will again be performing this year. Opening for them will be "akai SKY" http://www.akaisky.com. Due to the unexpectedly large turnout last year, we've expanded our con to include a much larger Dealer's Room, a full stage for the Cosplay Contest, and a larger room for the AMV Contest. Events include panels, screenings, a Karaoke Contest, a Swap Meet, an Artist's Alley, Iron Cosplay, and arcade gaming, as well as the previously mentioned Cosplay Contest, Dealer's Room, and AMV Contest.

To participate in the masquerade, you must pre-register. We only have enough spots for 10 1-minute walk-ons and 10 3-minute skits, so register by October 22nd! Instructions and rules are on the con website. Prices are $10 per person until October 22nd, and $15 at the door. Registration for children 8 & under is $8 and can only be purchased at the door. Pre-reg instructions are also on the website.

A portion of the proceeds from AnimeD 2005 will go towards the Red Cross' Hurricane Disaster Fund.

Thanks for reading, and we hope to see you there! ^_^

Yo, just a reminder that the con is this Saturday at UC Berkeley. We've got an AMV contest (and overflow block), AMV panel, screening of the VG3 MeP, plus other surprises.

Stop by if you're not busy! http://animage.berkeley.edu/animed
