Portable AMV player

Post by Krumme » Thu Oct 06, 2005 3:03 pm

Hi everybody.

I hope I'm in the right place. I bought a portable mp3/AMV player but the software that came with the player seems to have seious issue with my XP. Therefore I need to find a piece of software that enables me to convert .avi, .mpeg, .mpg etc. to AMV files.

I used the search function in this forum but didn't find a any answers :?:

Can anybody help me??

Thanks in advance!! :D

I think you are confused, AMV is an abreviation for Anime Music Videos, not a file extension. They should load fine onto any portable video player, as long as you have the codecs.

Perhaps you had better define "AMV files".
At this site, AMV = anime music videos, and can be any of the above extensions.

I'm not sure if this is a typo, or some really strange filetype. I've never heard of .amv files myself, but if you mean an 'anime music video' file, that's basically anything that's video and music (ie. mpg, avi, etc)

If this is a typo, and I'm gonna assume you mean 'wmv', the best resource I've seen in a while (and huge thanks to Burntoast for showing me this) is EO Video, it's a free trial for 30 days, and you can get it here:
http://www.eo-video.com/download/download.htm

I hope this was what you were looking for

according to the manual for the software:

This software converts videofiles to AMV video format, which is the format this MP3 player can play. Video formats that can be converted to the AMV format is:

AVI
AFS, WMV
MPG, MPEG
RM
MOV
VOB

Okay, so basically, the point is that you are on the wrong site,
HOWEVER...

Check here:

http://simns.ilbello.com/MP4/modem.htm

The second download says that it is an AMV converter. Perhaps this will help?
