dude, le tme know how i can get the free hosting.

i don't have many vids....and the smallest one i have so far is about 12 megs...my fattest one is about 35 megs. so a 40 meg account is no biggy ^_^. i'll prob only get to host one vid...but that's okay. i'll switch it around every couple months or so. :P

havent read everything here, but here's some problems...

1. Downtime - there will be a lot of it because you have no kind of direct connection.

2. Your interest - you will lose it after you reailse that once you HAVE around 50 people signed up for your service, you will have absolutely no personal bandwith, and thus, you will limit the upload speed on your ftp server, leading to unhappy customers and unhappy email.

3. Your server space is too small - I'm not going to pay $15 a year for hosting for one video. 10 people signing up will buy you an 80 gig hdd, thats almost a gig a person per hard drive. you're being incredibly chincy with space.

4. and the biggest factor: How long do you think your ADSL company is going to allow you to run an FTP server before they shut you down, thus you're not delivering what you promise people, in essence, taking their money and not deilvering the results, thus leading you to all sorts of legal problems? Companys like that typically dont like it when you decide to start hosting websites and large transfers.

So, with all due respect, count me out.

How about, no. You just dont like the fact that we're bringing perfectly reasonable concerns to the table. And another thing: why would I do buisness with you NOW, now that you're acting like a 4 year old?

Study buisness? Obviously you havent. you wouldn't be actively TRYING to alienate potential customers, yes?

Generally it's a good idea (although plenty of us host on Waldo's) but 60 megs sometimes isn't enough for more than one AMV. Most of mine are in teh 60 meg range and one is a whopping 99 megs. So for the paid hosting you would have to offer more than that, and probably charge more as a result, or we would only be postnig lo-res versions of our videos up.
