A little Journal upgrade..

Oh man I understood only now what Seconded, Thirdet etc was meaning.

About the LiveJournals, it's possible to even create long long journals even talking only about Amvs or about this site duties everyday, so that would probably not be fitting for everyone.

Thanks to everyone for the comments, hope to hear more, it would not be a great upgrade, but as I said probably for someone could be useful.

But even Kai didn't said something wrong.

There seem to be a fair number of members who use their Org journals for (near-)instant messaging, a practice I've never understood.

You should suggest the idea to them and see if any of them can program the patch.

Of course, I'm sure this would require getting a copy of the original code, and I have no idea how one would go about doing that.

I understand what you mean, and I didn't understand that too. For my personal experience, I use the Journal of the site to sketch my works, to put news about my projects and everything that concern my works and generally datas about the .org, usually talking for someone who could be interested. (So not in first-person).

Why use LJ when I don't know if half the people that read my journal here have LJ accounts? If my journal is dragging down the site, then someone please tell me, because I wasn't aware of any problem like that.

If you just think of it as a disfunctional off topic section it makes a lot more sense. People seem to enjoy doing them though.

I don't really see a need to do anything substantial to the journal section. Other than the people like Sammy and Godix that put in 35 new journal entries a day, and went into seizures about other peoples journals I think that the <next> <back> buttons work just fine..

Ask for access to the .org's Subversion repository.

My "submit a patch" comment was directed to anyone who is willing to do that. I agree with Kai -- I don't see this as a productive use of coding time in any way, but if someone does, that someone can either do it or find someone else to do it.
