Eh, depends on my mood. Bote and Fluxy certainly rule, I'm also a big fan of most of Koop's stuff (including but not limited to Euphoria). The entirely of BSP (NPC, Dcd, Xnod, TO, and BT) all tend to please me and produce videos that are somewhat tailored to my taste while still being well-executed by a more universal standard. Lately Warheart's been pumping out good stuff (especially that Soultaker vid), and then of course there's Hypeo and OV. Yeah, I could probably go on and on...
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

KEVEN KADWELL
but seriously it is. his videos are just timeless.
as for currently active editors..
fluxmeister
dwchang gave an interesting comment about him - in comparison to senta miller, he's good at getting edits done well while senta has a good sense of flow. but what about flux's videos i really enjoy are their flow and establishment of mood and style, particularly in 'Images' and 'Beautiful Earth,' which exemplifies why he's considered such a good creator -- he edits well and has a good ability to establish flow, mood, and style.

Well one thing (and perhaps I didn't mention it at Otakon when speaking with you) is that was mainly with respect to action videos. I believe both are two of the best action editors in the community and yet for totally different reasons.downwithpants wrote:fluxmeister

Fluxmeister's action videos are very "busy" and he doesn't waste any beats, major moments in the song, etc.
Senta's action videos don't hit every beat per se and aren't that busy, but he establishes a good sense of flow and understanding of the music (his Angelic Layer, X TV and Naruto videos as examples).
Kinda shows you can make a good action video without hitting every beat which seems to be the misdirection many people tell others.

I got hooked on AMVs last year and have watched lots and lots and lots.
There are many, many, many good editors here. One day I hope to be counted among them.
In my opinion, the editor that delivers the most consistently entertaining AMVs is VicBond 007

Pray 4 peace! Not an AMV, something you can do to help!

Ahhhhh, a good old-fashioned editing circlejerk.
There's only one editor who does everything I tell her to, although her output isn't all that great. But she pays my rent, so I can't complain much.
Seriously: I watch videos on a case by case basis and tend to remember the work rather than the person who put them out. I'm not here to worship other random geeks; I'm here to watch videos. I really don't care who made them, and I've been wildly impressed by work from people I've never heard of.

Damnit, and here I was hoping we could get a female involved in the circlejerk. It gets kinda boring jerking with kitsunebeolnet, bum, foxjones, and other guys all the time.SarahtheBoring wrote:Ahhhhh, a good old-fashioned editing circlejerk. ...Seriously: I watch videos on a case by case basis and tend to remember the work rather than the person who put them out.

Clearly you are a much better person. Do you have to rub it in?SarahtheBoring wrote:Seriously: I watch videos on a case by case basis and tend to remember the work rather than the person who put them out. Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.
