Hey silver_moon,

Unfortunatly, no. The system is currently only set up for new downloads. This may change, though.

So far, the newest quick comments seem to be showing up at the bottom of the list, not at the top as with the new opinions and new video download problems list... was this intentional? Or, now that I'm looking at it again, is it in alphabetical order by video title? Just curious.

I can already tell that this is one feature for which I'm going to enjoy the giving much more than the receiving, oddly enough (for opinions it's just the opposite).

At the same time, it will allow some people to make just one or two comments about the worst/best aspects of the video, which has at least some potential usefulness, and basically no drawbacks. But I'm indifferent; I think you'll just get the same types of comments as you would get in an announcement thread, which are only sometimes useful.

I do know, however, that I will use this for nearly every video, and my comments won't be completely retarded.

That should be fixed now.

the fact that they even had to add guick comment shows that the number of ppl who actually take the time to add an opinion is very slim to none. I personally try to give an opinion to all of my download but sometimes the scores and all that take too much time. the guick comment saves a lot of time. so yeah this is a great idea

I'd just like to say that this new system is awesome. I've gotten two already, a positive micro-op and a "sucked", and the combination of these -- especially the presence of the second -- really affirms my faith in the system. If people can be free to say that videos suck without fear of immature retaliation, this will hopefully produce positive pressure on editors and more realistic self-appraisal. And then opinion scores will recenter on 5 and we will all hold hands and sing Kumbayah. But seriously, this is pretty cool.

I just got 3 comments that were alright. Problem is, these people could have actually opinioned my vid, but instead "quick commented" on it. Having this new idea causes people to get less opinions in my opinion. I think it's stupid.

Note the keywords here, could have. In your situation, these words are probably synonomous with wouldn't have.

Example:

My overall opinion given percentage = 4.35%
My opinion given percentage since 2003 = 0%
My quick comment percentage since the system was installed = 100%

My guess is that for the vast majority of people, something is better than nothing.

I hope this helps.

Just curious, is there a max size for the New Quick Comments box? And how long will the comments stay in that box before they disappear? My queue is filling up quickly, and I'm just wondering if I will miss any if, say, I don't check the site for a few days.
I have no idea how to use this new forum.
