Actually, an AMV-specific program could work a little like MAME.

MAME, if I remember correctly, has a list of all the available games that it can emulate and all you do is add your rom or whatever and that gets linked to the database.

We have a database here. If it could be exported every once in a while then it could store all the video information and then all you do is link the information about where you have said file stored, just like MAME.

You could even write it so it accessed the org automatically too if you were clever, so you'd always have up to date video information.

thats not a bad idea. now all we need is someone to program it.
Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all run around in a darkened room, munching pills, and listening to repetitive music~Kristian Wilson, CEO, Nintendo Gaming Corporation

I know that this thread is a bit old, but I'd never miss a chance to advertise for this piece of software I made (shameless) :D :

http://www.mp3db.mp3.ms/english

This is an application made to have a catalog of your CDs, Hard Drives and Lan Drives. It was initially made to catalog mp3s, but it now works fine with video files...
I actually use it for my AMV CDs...you might want to give it a try, it's free and open source 8)
