DVD Help!!!

I have no idea if this was a previous post, so I'm posting it. I downloaded that 'Working with DVD' guide, and I can rip my DVD to my pc, but I don't have Adobe...uh...I forgot what is was called. I have Windows Movie Maker...and I'm sticking with it. Can I still use DVD footage in WMM? If so, how? Because I read that DVD guide and it confused the daylights out of me!
