Editing multiple Frames

Post by djode » Thu Sep 01, 2005 6:06 pm

Suppose you wanted to remove a character from the background, youll use an image editing program and do it frame by frame.
Are there any ways to cut lets say 5(or more) consecutive frames of the image.

No not really from what I can recall. But to do a lipsync type thing you just have to cut the image out once and then 4 of the mouth movements to be overlayed. (1 - 1/4 open, 1/2 open, 3/4 open and all the way) If your talking about a walking clip that's just a little more difficult because your invovling the whole body and then you have to make sure you cut everything exactly the same so that way the images don't look wierd when in motion. This will take time. As many creators can tell you.

If you use After Effects you can animate masks over time, which can be very usefull if there are not to many changes frame by frame.

See the fourth post in this thread for a step by step. (Also see E-kos post for a guide to doing it with photoshop.)

... its easy, as long as nothing is moving infront of the character then dot edit him out... just edit OVER him..

One of the reasons I despise rotoscoping. I already do frame by frame edits of some effects... doing anymore and I lose what little sanity I have...
