Original Music???

Wassup everyone...I just wanted to know if any of you ever used original music for your AMV's. That would be any music that you have personally written, composed, performed, or recorded. I don't make AMV's (time, equipment, and lack of know how), but I am a song writer and producer. Although I know that most of you are not really hiphop fans (my industry), those who create other types of music interest me.

I'm sure that people have been in bands and used their music in AMV's, although I haven't personally done so. Actually, one of the local bands from where I live asked me to make an AMV for one of their songs, which is pretty cool.

Thanks you for replying to my message. The thing is I was wanting to do the some thing for some of the artist that I work with. Some the the songs have vocals and some are just instruments. But I wanted to get (pay) someone or a few creators to do some things. How much would you charge for service. Let me know your damage (price) and stipulations, restrictions, or requests and we can negotiate something.

If you mean personally, hell I'd do it for free, but if you were thinking of mass distributing this stuff, you would need to get permission from the Anime creators, first, but I think you already know that. Also, there are a lot of people on here that are better editors than me (yes I admit it I ADMIT IT), so go with some of them, my skills are more toward audio (hence why I do alternate music sondtracks for anime mostly anymore)

I do the same, i have a lot of beats that ive made myself and a lot of rhymes to go with them. Ive been thinking of doing somthing like a cartoon network promo type amv. The prospect of it would just be straight music and a mix of a lot of sounds from anime, and some talking.

Other than that man its a good idea to try somthing like that, even with some origanal music. Thats tight. Theres proly a good editor out there to make your amvs for u, im still a noob at this amv shit but im working on it. Right now im just having more fun than anything video editing.

Thank everyone for their responses. I really appreciate it. This is all done as a non profit promo thing, I can't be getting sued before I make any money, lol. Seriously, I know about the legal aspects.

I have been getting some pretty mean messages from folks, but I'm cool with that too. For those who have been positive and constructive, thanks again. For those who have not, thank you too, you haters. The only reason that I offer compensation, is out of respect for the creators and editors and the time and effort that it takes to make AMV's. That is all. It is my way of showing appreciation. I have just placed all the possible stuff into MP3 format, so I will be leaving a link for the music to be downloaded shortly.

I've been using several freeware programs, including fmus2000 (fractil music) a multi instrument synth, T2111 (a multi osc synth), and hammer10 (a versitile drum machine).
All are easy to learn and can be mixed with Quartz studio.
One composition is over 7 min long and very sci-fi.
