Interlacing Trouble

Post by Kinyin » Sat Aug 06, 2005 11:46 pm

I have been following VicBond007's Guide to Working with DVD Footage for a while, and it worked well with anime like NOIR, but I have been running into trouble lately.

For instance I am working with Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex atm and instead of p,p,p,p,i or p,p,p,i,i (progressive and interlaced) I keep getting different patterns, sometimes its p,p,p,i and then sometimes it gets a little mixed up like p,p,p,i,i,p,i... but a lot of it seems to be p,p,p,i.

When I follow the instructions though I end up with video where interlacing is still present, especially when mouths move.

What can I do to get rid of this?

not if it's hybrid footage, though i don't know if GitS is hybrid, but the problem sounds like it.

if there are scanlines after ivtc, you may need to try to decomb/blend the footage. see http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... ocId650786
